"A Summary of Max Schulman's "Love Is a Fallacy""

The story started when the narrator introduced hi self. He is cool,logical. Keen, calculating, perspicacious, acute, and astute in short he is intelligent.
The story started when he went to back to his room, he saw in his roommate named Petey diagnosed with appendicitis. The narrator wanted to approch him......... but Petey said he only needs a raccoon coat. The narrator was a bit of confused why he wanted that stuff. But Petey told him that that coat was the one worn by the big men in their campus now but he does not have money to buy for one .

He discouraged Petey about that coat because it is unsanitary. But when he heard about what Petey is going to give evrything just exchanged for the coat, he had a brilliant idea and he ask about the girl named Polly. If Petey and her were already on steady. He thougfht for a while and then he realized that his father has one of those coats. So he told Petey that he will be going home for the weekend and told him that hi willbring back a surprise and he will make sure that Petey would love it.

On the following day, the narrator broughht the coat with him and gave it to Petey. Petey was overjoyed when he saw the coat. When he asked what would would he want exchnge for the coat, the narrator replied,"your girl". The narrator wanted to date Petey's girl,polly. He love the way Polly carries herself, her manners, and her beauty even though she is a bit dumb. At first Petey wsa having secondthoughts about what his roommate said. But the end he accepted the deal. The raccoon coat exchangefor his girl, Polly.

on the first night of their date he was a bit ofboredabout the girl. But he thought that he would teach and do everything for Polly. On the second to the fourth night, he taught her about fallacies.

but when the fifth night came, the narrator changed the topic nad turned romantic. He told Polly that he loved her so much that she means all the world to him. But Polly answered her about the policies that she had learned.The narrator was a bit of disappointed about that andasked directly if she would go steady with him. and then Polly told him that she had promised Petey that afternoon that they would go steady. The narrator became angry and asked her that what's with Petey that he did not have? Polly simply answered,"a raccoon coat".
